The French Kitchen was the only missing piece in this stately Hancock Park home. The clients had seen a kitchen in a Parisian noble villa and wanted to bring much of the elements, albeit on a smaller scale, into their home. The china room became a china cabinet, staff lockers became pantry cabinets, and fireplace meant for roasting an entire Ox became a modern double range. The kitchen opens to the adjacent new media room with symmetrical doors, keeping the formality of the house throughout the plan.
