The Santa Monica Office Building is a remodel of a warehouse building into an office space for a law-firm. In downtown Santa Monica, only blocks from the Ocean, much emphasis was put on aspects of sustainability. Though a very deep floor plate with few windows, daylight was maximized with glass partitions for enclosed offices, skylights over the central open area, and solatubes. The skylights are operable and work together with large ceiling fans to provide natural ventilation.
