The Young Saeng Korean Presbyterian Church had been a center for the Korean immigrant community of Los Angeles for decades. When we were hired to renovate the sanctuary and social hall and add a second story for expanded classrooms and office space, we discovered that the use as a Church had never been permitted. It required intensive work with several city departments, as well as complicated technical upgrades for safety, disabled access and parking to get the building into compliance and allow for its expansion.
